Guest guest Report post Posted October 25, 2005 I hope Vanamali is going to inspire many more girls who want to do , bat are shy to do it. I do it quite often atleast once in a year. But my wife did it once, and she enjoyed it. Now a days it is also becoming a modern fashon. It acts like a good tonic for head too. Vanamali you can comment on it, and can send images to people like sneha, who want to charge themselves Prabha-Bangalore

Guest guest Report post Posted February 2, 2006 dear vanamali, i came across the site quite accidently ,and was surprised to find you asking for help to encourage u for the tonsure. Its yuor consience (inner). be clear of your thoughts, and you will have no guilt. me nad my wife too wished our hair to the lord. but because my wife is afraid of as what will society think? so if once concience permits just go to kalyanayakatta, and bow down to the barbers blade, or just ignore it with no guilt of cheating the lord. krishnan
Guest guest Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Myself and wife have taken a vow to go to tirupati. While I shall definitely get my head shaved my wife is not too sure and need some encouragement as she thinks female headshaving at tirupati is practiced by only poor and low caste women? I would be happy if some ladies may reply about their experience and whether they are looked down by society. Then it will be easier for me to convince my wife about shaving her head at tirupati. Incidentally we are from north india.

Madhucan 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 Dandavats, whats wrong with poor or low-caste women ? Trinad api sunicena...? the externals are not so important, our submission to Sri Guru, coupled with a humble serving-spirit is much more so. i wish you both a wonderful trip. Jai Srila Prabhupada ! suchandra 1 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 Me and my wife shaved our heads at tirupati last year.Mywife enjoyed it a lot. So go ahead and shave ur head if u want. Don't care about other people. originally posted by HH Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja Letter to Himavati dd -- Los Angeles 15 June, 1972 I don't know who has given you this idea of shaving your head and wearing white garments. In India only the widows are allowed to shave head. You remain the beautiful maid servant of Krishna. That is your business, and you should dress yourself always very nicely so that Krishna by seeing you will be pleased. Don't try to be ugly before Krishna. Krishna does not like ugly gopis. We are transcendental artists, musicians, writers, so everything should be beautiful for Krishna. After all we are members of Krishna's family, just like Krishna had 16,000 wives and each wife has thousands of servants and maid-servants and all of them are very beautiful for serving Krishna and His Queens. So the servants of the gopis and queens cannot be ugly, they are as beautiful as the queens. In the Vaikuntha world there is no need of serving anything because everything is already clean and beautiful. It is so clean that just like a mirror when the maid-servants would sweep the floor they could see the reflections of their bodies. So remain always compact in Vaikuntha yajna, simply by thinking of the Glories of the Lord. Don't try to do anything artificially. That is sahajiya, which means a class of men that take everything very cheap. You want to perform sacrifice so continuously read our Vedic scriptures and perform the Vaikuntha yajna. Hope you are well. Your ever well-wisher, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
