I am sharing my Dharma here -

welcoming any comments or questions:

There are only two things with which

the spiritual aspirant need be concerned:

1. WHO Bhagavan is.

&

2. HOW to get to Him.

WHO: Bhagavan (the One of unlimited opulences)

is Sri Visnu (the All-Pervading One)

He incarnates as Sri Vaasudev

HOW: The how of getting to Him is Dharma.

There are three pillars of Dharma:

1. GYAANAM

(Transcendental Knowledge)

of this tree, there are three branches:

a. Bhagavan

(His names, forms, qualities and pastimes - all of which are equally worshipable)

b. The Sanskrit Bhagavad Gita

(the speaking of the Gita is one of the worshipable pastimes of Bhagavan)

c. Dharma Itself

(which is the means to fully realize both)

2. TAPSYA

(austerities of body, mind and speech)

3. SAADHNA

(Specific Daily Spiritual Practices)

i.e. chanting of Sanskrit Gita

& names of Bhagavan & Gita study

Dharma is very nicely elucidated by

the Spiritual Master Sri Sankaracarya

ONE WHO TAKES SHELTER OF THIS DHARMA

SHALL ATTAIN THE SUPREME DESTINATION:

Gita Dharma

1

One who, with a regulated mind, recites with devotion

this Bhagavad-gita scripture which is the bestower of all

virtue, will attain to a holy abode such as Vaikuntha, the

residence of Sri Visnu, which is always free from the

mundane qualities based on fear and lamentation.

2

If one reads Bhagavad-gita very sincerely and with all

seriousness, then by the grace of Sri Bhagavan the

reactions of his past misdeeds will not act upon him.

3

One may cleanse himself daily by taking a bath in

water, but if one takes a bath even once in the

sacred Ganges water of Bhagavad-gita, for him the

dirt of material life is altogether vanquished.

4

In the present age, people are so absorbed in mundane

activities that it is not possible for them to read all

the Vedic literatures. Because Bhagavad-gita is the

essence of all Vedic literatures and especially because

it is spoken by Sri Bhagavan, one need only attentively

and regularly hear and read Bhagavad-gita. One need

not read any other Vedic literature.

5

By drinking the Ganges waters of the Gita, the divine

quintessence of the Mahabharata emanating from the

holy lotus mouth of Sri Visnu, one will never again

take birth in the material world. In other words,

by devotionally reciting the Gita, the cycle of birth

and death is terminated.

6

All the Upanisads are like a cow, and the milker of

the cow is Sri Vaasudev, the son of Nanda. Arjuna

is the calf, the beautiful nectar of the Gita is the milk,

and the fortunate devotees of fine theistic intellect

are the drinkers and enjoyers of that milk.

7

There need be only one holy scripture - the divine

Gita sung by Bhagavan Sri Vaasudev: only one

worshipable Lord - Bhagavan Sri Vaasudev: only one

mantra - His holy names: and only one duty -

devotional service to Sri Bhagavan.

Sri Sankaracarya

O Lord of the universe - the world becomes joyful upon hearing your name! I offer my respectful obeisances unto You. You are the supreme primal objective. You are the ultimate resting place of all this universe. You are inexhaustible. You are the maintainer of the eternal religion. You are without origin, middle or end. Your glory is unlimited. O Lord of lords, O Refuge of the worlds, please be gracious to me. As a father tolerates the impudence of his son, or a friend tolerates the impertinence of his friend, please tolerate the wrongs I may have done You. You are the supreme controller - the original creator! O Limitless One, God of gods, Refuge of the universe! You are the invincible source, the cause of all causes - transcendental to this material manifestation. You are the knower of everything, and You are all that is knowable. You are the father of this complete cosmic manifestation, of the moving and the nonmoving. You are the supreme spiritual master. No one is equal to You, nor can anyone be one with You. You are the supreme lord, to be worshiped by every living being. Thus I fall down to offer You my obeisances and ask for your mercy.

Prayer of Prince Arjuna to The Supreme*

Bhagavad-Gita As It Is 11:16,18,19,25,31,36,37,38,39,43,44

Achyuta: Infallible One

Krishna: All Attractive One

Vaasudev: The son of Vussudev

Vishnu: All Pervading One

Yamo: Supreme Controller

"O controller of all things - You are the well-wisher of all the conditioned souls. There is no limit to your glories. Nothing can go on without You. And yet you are separate. From You the Vedas have come. You are time. And in the course of time you will destroy all things. You are the cause of the creation, maintenance and destruction of the manifested universes. And you are the Supersoul in everyone's heart, who is directing their activities You are the object of meditation of great yogis, the guru of the whole universe and the goal of all devotees. Oh Lotus-Eyed One, please accept my obeisances again and again.

Your glories are unlimited." The Gita Mahatmya -

A combination of two separate prayers:

from Sri Yamaraja & Sri Laksmi

Gita if you if you tell reversly it is tagi(tyagi) . Thyag means give up, if you give up your ego, negative qualities & fruit of action, you can go near to God. The reciting of Gita is greater than dip in Ganga. To take dip in Ganga you have to go to Ganges river. Where as Gita can be recited by anybody anywhere. Leaving everything surrender to God , He will releise you from all the bondages & sins & give you mukthi(Liberation). Vedas can not be recited by everybody but Gita can be recited by everyone. Gita is the essence of all vedas, upanishads. so everybody who recites Gita with devotion gets mukthi. Naraya Himself took birth as Krishna to deliver Gita to all His devotees through Arjuna. God is so kind . He wants all His devotees to be freed from bondage. May god bless you all!

Dear Prabhu,

Thank you for your wisdom and blessings. I hope you can share some of that wisdom in the Gita Dharma group itself.
