Chanting, is that all we do?

If we are not associated with any temple, If we are not capable of doing anything else spiritually , If we have no work because of wealth, can we just chant and be okay?

it will give you the intelligence to find devotee to associate with, find a spiritual master, gain more spiritual strenght and, to find work and wealth if krsna judges that it will be an help for your spirituality

However, Prabhupada said that working for someone else is the the job of a dog. He wanted to create a Varnashram society wherein everyone was working for Krishna and getting sufficient remuneration from a Monarchy-like spiritual communism goverment.......called ISKCON.

 

Prabhupada never wanted his disciples to have to go out into the karmi sector and work like dogs for non-devotees.

He wanted to created a microcosm society in ISKCON and establish a varnashrama type society.

 

All this failed along with the failure to obey his most basic directive that placed him as the Monarch of the ISKCON society...for all time!

however, just chanting is like moving towards god with some minimum speed.

 

if you chand, you would want to associate with othres who also chant. this chanters group would usually meet in a temple of a home temple.

 

wealth and talents can be used to spread KC.

 

lietening and reading scriptures and biographies of saints and goswamis helps greatly.

 

these othere things speed up progress towards krishna.

I’m reminded of a story I heard about one of Srila Prabhupada’s God brothers (I think I heard it on one of the memories videos). The God brother was Krsnadas Babaji Maharaj. He would just sit all day long and chant. Some people complained to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta that he wasn’t doing anything but chanting, and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta approved of his activity. In later years he would collect small funds and use the money to print bumper stickers with the Hare Krsna Mahamantra on it and plaster them all over the city.
