theist 1 Report post Posted May 20, 2003 PETA has this van with a big TV screen on the side that they use in their anti-amimal abuse campaigns. They play a VCR or dvd from the inside and give people a visual tour of what the slaughtering process is all about. They have taken all these undercover movies of cows being slaughter etc. A very strong approach to street theater. I know someone from another web site who built a similar van with screens on both sides and on the back and they show these types of films while driving around. Can you imagine pulling up behind them at a stop light, on your way to the store or resteraunt, and watching a cow being slaughtered. Strong stuff, but it will really quickly disabuse someone of the illusion that meat comes from the store in little cellophane packages. They use a strong temper glass to discourage vandalism. Anyway, I was wondering if devotees had anything similar. You know you roll up to a location with a tape of say, a ratha-yatra somewhere playing as you distribute some prasada and mantra cards etc. here is a link to PETA's van. http://www.peta.org/feat/reality/
theist 1 Report post Posted May 22, 2003 Another animal rights group built this truck they call the Tiger truck. They circle around hunting pedestrians. When they find a group they turn on their four screens. I love this kind of thing. /images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.sharkonline.org/indextiger.mv
