Longevity Attributed to Rare Herbs

ATTAPADI, INDIA, November 22, 2002: Mudda Moopan doesn't know how old he is -- not that he cares. What he does know is that he has married 23 times, fathered too many children to remember, has had the distinction of meeting both the first President of India and the latest, and that he still feels young. Mudda Moopan is the Adivasi King of the Karumbha tribe, Kerala, and an authority in tribal medicine. Locals say he is probably one of the oldest men in the world and estimate his age at over 120. Last year, a group of university students collected a sample of Moopan's hair to work out his age and found the tribal chief had long crossed the century mark. Moopan doesn't remember the names of all 23 wives; he can think of only 16. His current wife is in her early thirties and his youngest child is 11. So what is the secret behind Moopan's longevity and virility? He claims the secret lies in a paste made of ten rare medicinal herbs that he takes three times daily, but he won't reveal what the herbs are. However, that hasn't prevented scientists from seeking his help. "He can identify more than 1,000 rare medicinal plants. He is a living legend -- a treasure trove," says a senior agricultural scientist at the Thrissur Agricultural University.

just because he thinks the things he puts in his body

have given him longevity and healthfullness, doesn't

make it so.

The status of the body is dependent on the karma of the person and the desire of the supreme will, that reality

is the factual one.

Our bodies age due to the change of the cell function

that makes new cells,it goes from creating fully

functioning cells to progressively less so, we call this aging, along with aging the bodily functions become less

"youthfull" which means the regenerative properties

have ceased to regenerate perfectly.

all of this is being done by cellular interaction

at the micro biological level, cells run around and do their

thing with a mind of their own, white blood cells roam around looking for the enemy, synapses fire transfering

data to where it is needed,a dance of unbelievable

complexity at all times.

every cell,every atom,is fully conscious.

they act according to the will of that consciousness,

it really doesn't matter what you think a specific herb

will do, all things related to the body ultimately

are caused and carried out by the cells and activity

of the component parts of the body, which are all in fact

conscious and have their own agenda regardless

of what you ingest.

this is the transcedental reality,

Mahadeva could drink an ocean of poison and be unaffected,

you may eat very strictly ,only the purest "untainted"

foods, and another person may not, still the person

who eats very carefully may be sickly and the other

strong and vibrant.

the reality is that Karma is the factor, not what

you do to try and increase your health,Krsna tells us

He is the healing herb,He is the deciding factor,

the realized person as Prabhupada was, has the attitude

of not being overly obsessed or concerned with

trying to maintain or increase the health of the body,

"take what works" was Prabhupada's attitude, he understood

the reality of the body, ultimately it is out of our control,we have our plan,God has his plan, don't

overly concern yourself with controlling health,

it is really out of our hands.
