Greg Palast, the award winning BBC Investigative Reporter, has just come out with a new book, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy - An Investigative Reporter Exposes the Truth about Globalization, Corporate Cons, and High Finance." The book is a 211 page hard cover which lists for $25. Palast is the investigative reporter who first revealed how Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush removed tens of thousands of predominantly African-American Democratic voters from the voter rolls in Florida just before the 2000 Presidential election. Gregory Palast will speaking about his new book, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy." The event will be held at Walker Stage, 56 Walker Street, in Tribeca, Manhattan, New York City. Walker Stage has seating accommodations for 220 people. Walker Stage is located 2 blocks south of Canal Street, between Broadway and Church Streets. Take the N, R to Canal St to enter from Broadway side or the A, C to Canal St. to enter from Church St. side

 

We will also have as a speaker Danny Schechter who is Executive Editor of MediaChannel.org and Executive Producer of Global Vision. Danny will be talking about his new film "Counting on Democracy" which is a documentary and expose of the 2000 Presidential election debacle in Florida Our guests will speak from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, followed by a question and answer session from 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

 

At 9:00 pm, we will have a social at Walker Stage to give people a chance to discuss the issues among themselves and listen to music. Refreshments will be served at the social.
