I just saw this article on CNN and thought the following statement was pretty stupid. They found 2 box cutters hidden in an overhead bin on a plane that was scheduled to go to New York on Sept 11th but was later grounded. In response, the Canadian police say:

 

"There is no evidence to prove that the knives were placed on the plane on September 11, or before or after that, because they weren't found until September 14," Reber said. "And there is nothing to suggest that passenger safety was ever compromised."

They find two knives on a plane, and they say "nothing suggests that passenger safety was ever compromised"!?

 

And then they conclude:

 

Paradis would only say that based on the 4,700 tips the RCMP has received to date, they have not seen anything that would compromise the security of air travelers.

Anyone else find this type of statement ludicrous? They find two knives on a plane and say, "Everything was fine, the plane didn't crash, did it?"

Yes, prabhu, that is only a small sample of Canadian thinking, a peculiar mixture of moral superiority and wilful ignorance. Now that I see you're interested, perhaps I'll pass on a few more examples.

Anyone who thinks a passenger filled plane can be hijacked by 4 boxcutters knows absolutely nothing about aeronautics nor politics.

One boxcutter can't even cut through a plastic pocketbook or attache case before another pocketbook or attache case hits the perpetrator upside his holy head.

How many passengers on each plane? Plus flight crew?

How many pocketbooks? Attache cases? Canes? Crutches?

Moreover, not one person aboard knew any martial arts?
