For most living a self-sufficient lifestyle is indeed a Utopia.In the Vedis histories but not in the modern world where the national gov'ts make it practically impossible to become self-sufficient. The bottom line:can you remember Krishna by chanting His holy names .Then your slick,modern city lifestyle in the kali yuga may have to do.
