Similar gothra marriage among subsects

Can a marriage takes place between a Shaivite bride and a Vaishanvite groom of similar Gothras. Please support with references and indiactor please.

Per the traditional belief (arranged mariage system), marriage within same gotra is considered to be within the same family.

 

Same Gothra people are said to have common origin. Baing Shaivite or Vashnavite doesn't matter as that is personal choice.

 

There is no reference if you are asking for one. YOu may ask any of your family Purohit/Pundit.

 

Having said that, in modern times some people do not mind marrying within same gothra making sure that there is no familial link whatsoever with the other party.

 

But general belief under arranged marriage systen is that same gothra marraiges are not considered.
