Guest guest
Namaste, I use to read Bhagavad-Gita translated by srila prabhupada. It´s not that I don´t like it but I want to compare it with other ´s translation. Could someone recommend other authors ? By the way I felt that the german translation of BG might be very poor or it´s because of the german language itself. Probably I should learn Sanskrit /images/graemlins/smile.gif Thanks hare krishna ekansh
Guest guest
there is a beautiful little translation by an author called MANSUR, but it's very difficult to find. eknath easwaran has a good translation, but it's more from the philosophical and historical points of view rather than spiritual. overall, id recommend you get yogananda's version. it's called God Talks With Arjuna, and is two volumes long. when you see it and flip through it, you'll understand why it's so essential. maadhav
prabhupada also has praised Dr. Radhakrishnan's translation, however, radkakrishnana was a philosopher, not an acharya. There is a translation by sri sridhar swami.
Guest guest
Try to look for not just translations but those that also include commentary such as those by Swami Chidbhavananda, the one by Swami Chinmayananda and there is also one by Sri Aurobindo.
