May i know how many forms of advaitham Philosophy exist?

I know the one initiated by AdiShankara.

Who else worked on this concept? Are there any differences between the concepts and their core essence between different Advaitham Philosophies ?

kindly clarify

Regards,

Hari OM:

Dear, Advaitham means ONE without a SECOND, now how can be there TWO or more Advaithams????????

Advaitham is a way of explaining the one absolute Truth (like wise Dvaitham, etc., etc.,) are all ways of explaining the ONE truth.

Many different scholars tried to explain it in different ways to suit for different audiences with various levels of understanding capacity and tastes.

There is no difference in the CORE of any of their teachings save for their style and language

Here are a few according to my understanding.

Adi-shankara says that spiritual true nature is there is all and alike (nothing like reserved for a few). Material nature is articfical super-imposition. It's ignorance led by attachements which is preventing one from realizing the true nature. It's within the reach, any time, any moment. Believes that the capability to discriminate (viveka) is the key and the continued capability to discriminate (viveka) may be necessary. Strongly believes that once experienced there is no going back for the person. Actions by true spiritual nature (Karma yoga), good reading of scriptures, and good satsanga can help maintain viveka & the realization.

Lord krishna suggests spiritual self-realization and karma yoga. Admits in BG that spiritual self-realization is difficult. Removes inhibitors to natural capability/actions by the sense of surrender of actions/results and all attachements. Highlights on the focus for doing good karma. Moment one understands/engages in good Karma, Krishna would help remove the baggage of all the previous bad karmas the same very moment.

Kashmir shavism believes Spiritual nature and material nature are both natural for a human (might have annoyed Adi-shankara). Devotion to Goddess Parvati helps reveal the presence of spiritual true nature, as the messenger of Shiva.

The bottom line of advaithic philosophy is the same anyways.
