Guest guest Report post Posted August 11, 2005 I hope, Karma is not just service. Karma means activities which person has to do in the life, this includes service too. (Correct me here if I am wrong) And here I want to highlight "Brahman" is not a caste/sect. It is only Samskaras. One who follows the Samskaras of Brahmana - Seeker of Lord Brahma. The vedic brahmans means one who used to follow the bramhana samskaras, like Waking Early, Dyana, Bramhacharya etc. These brahmans used to have some Vrittis (duties). Shrotra Karma - Shrotra means Ear/hearing. These used to do Yagnas, Pujas etc.. Smarta Karma - A Smarta Brahmin who performs the six duties are adhyayana, adhyapana, dana, adana, yajana, Yajanamulu. (This I have browsed and found from some site). This is Just My personal View.
