Modern Education- Creation of Thrird and Fourth class men

Le me start this thread by offering my respectful obiesensences unto the Lotus feet of Guru and Gauranga who are helping me to cross this material ocean of darkness.

 

Vedas say Athatho Brahma Jijnasa –Meaning Now the time has to come to inquire about the absolute truth and the self and the eternal connection between the self and the that unchanging entitity Brahman. Now the most apparent question here is whether the modern day population is really doing this ? are they are making any attempt to inquire into the absolute truth. Well the answer is Big NO. Whats lacking then? Whats the reasons for this genaration of third and fourth class men who do nothing other than the four daily mandane activities of eating, sleeping, mating and willing, well many questions the members here got to answer them .

 

One of the reasons a srila Prabhupada quotes in his one of the lectures that its the modern education, the eduction which teaches nothing more than the outer material body which is not going to remain for ever. The education is bringing out more and more athiests, the great Universtities have bceome factories of producing asses who believe in working for senses and do so called great sense gratification job very nicely. And on the name of so called economic development, social development more and more sense gratifying stations are being created. On the name of the same economic development the more and more so called Universities are being created to produce Unemployed Machines. A situation has come wherein both the potter son and the kings sons want to become a software engineer and unfortunately there is only one job, and this has lead in many cases frustration, depression and in some cases suicidals .

Greed increasing agents , that’s how the Unis could be called as nowadays , have become centre for teaching craftmanship (refer ttp://society.krishna.org/Articles/2002/05/017.html) to produce cars, and machines. No real Knowledge is being imparted on the students, no knowledge of soul and God is being imparted. In short the Universities have just teaching students how to lead a full fledged sinful life to get cat and hog bodies in their next lives. Something has to be done in this regard, the Gita has to be brought in the real day teaching in schools and colleges, students have to be trained right from the primary level the essence of gita and this human life , which can lead to a peaceful and stress free population.

Your diagnosis of the problem is correct, and your solution is also partially correct- we should spread Gita for reducing the Adharma in the world and increase happiness.

 

However i don't think we can do it through schools or colleges because of the incompetent teachers, now most of the students hate their subjects and if we introduce Gita, i think it will also suffer the same fate.

 

It would be better if there are dedicated, knowledgable and volunteer teachers educating interested children about Gita, even if the knowledge spreads slowly. This is already happening in many big cities and this should be stepped up
