Hi,

I am in Chennai. I'd like to join an ashram, stay there for the rest of my life, learn the truths from the Guru and try realizing the purpose of this birth. Could you, please, help me by letting me know what ashrams are present in Chennai or in TamilNadu?

Thanks,

Vijay

Hare Krishna,

First of all its very difficult to get a Guru (real reaslised soul) to go and surrender to get the answers for innumerable questions on God and religion. So the best way is to start reading Gita (translated by Sri devine grace AC Bhakthivedanata Prabhupada). And then it has been seen that mostly people in the beginning out of some kind of hyperactive nature try and join some so called ashrams only to find later no where.

So my sincere advice is to read Srimad Bhagavadgita and try to inculcate the teachings given by the Lord himself. As the saying goes for a pure devotee even the hell is like Vaikunta as he will never be affected by any of the material modes , so is for a yogi the house or the place where he is living itself is an Ashram - no need to find a saparate one.

Hari Hari bol
