Dear all,

What if a jivanmukti has an accident and has his forebrain damaged? His behavior, his personality will change, according to findings in neuropsychology. He will be no longer a spiritually fulfilled man. If he was enlightened, he will lose this enlightenment and will go back to his state of bondage.

Makes sense?

i agree....

but it must have been the jivanmukthi's karma that made the brain damage occur in the first place. something must have happened. things like that just dont happen for no reason right?

so i think ur real question, is can one already proclaimed a jivanmukthi have that status taken away? well can someone proclaimed a saint have that taken away? or a good person be named bad? can one switch from one caste to another?

all answers YES. if a good person doenst contintue to act good and then acts bad, then he is now bad.

Hi,

The jivan mukthi is a state of the soul.Soul is as it is always. So when brain which is a mere instrument of expression goes down, the soul wont further express its glory through that body.Still it knows jnana or knowledge but simply it wont express it.

Its like an artist whose both the hands and eyes are taken away by a cruel king. Then also the artist's brain knows everything but it simply cannot express anything. So assuming the brain is transferred into another perfect body it would express its skill.

Similarly the soul is in a state of progress and it's expression depends on the body it gets.

Suppose a great soul takes birth as a goat,it wont teach or speak vedas, but its state is the same. When given a human body it achieves that.

Until perfection, soul has to interact with matter and literaliy a jivan muktha is perfect and as such he can prevent the disaster of brain damage. So it is purely the soul's will to remain further in damaged body in case of jivan mukthas.

But for normal people it is all in fate's hands.

A knower knows that the body, including the brain, is a vehicle of manas and not the other way round.

A true jivan mukta's manas is ever immersed in Brahman, so what happens to body is of no consequence.

Possibly you think that the mass of soft flesh called brain has its independent capacity. Then, why in absence of prana it does not say anything?

Get out of the hole
