Help needed

I need help and suggestions for daily religious activities.

I am not a Vaishnavite by origin but fortunately from my childhood i am more inclined to Lord Vishnu.I am 22 year old girl and working in a software company.Before i started working i used to chant Vishnu Sahasranaam and used to fast for all Ekadesi but after i have started working things have changed.I am unable to chant Sahasranaam as i am away from home,the present house is not spacious and clean enough to decorate my Lord Vishnu with flowers and chant the mantra.Is it ok to chant by sitting on a clean floor and looking towards the sky(eastern side).Is it mandatory to have a deepam and the diety.

 

Secondly i am unable to fast for Ekadesi bcus i have to work sitting in front of the computer for 11 hrs my parents are scolding me that i will faint if i fast.

 

Can you suggest me a suitable diet during Ekadesi.

it is good that you have faith and love vishnu.

 

do it as best as you can.

even chanting one mantra is enough.do it whnever you have time, but not while evacuting.

 

deepam or deity is not mandatory, but hvae them if possible.

else just close eyes and imagine that you have them,

and focus your mind on the form of deity.

if ghee is not available use cande,

but not kerocene or petroleum lamps. they pollute.

 

need to keep the residence as clean as possible,

specially the sadhana room.

 

on ekadasi if fast is not possible, then eat less, or et just fruits and juices.

 

sitting 11 hrs on computer is not healthy.

need to give some exercise to the body.

walk around, take deep breadh occassionally.
