Guest guest
The idea for this post came from Madhavji's answers to a post http://www.hindu-religion.net/showflat/cat/hinduism/76666/0/collapsed/5/o/1. There he said "it is better to do what krishna says than do what he does" I have heard this many times from many people.I dont know why they have this fear towards defending the actions of krishna. What is wrong in behaving like krishna did?I asked this to some people who said this saying. Some did not answer and one devotee answered this as follows Krishna did many things which are unsuitable to today's world. He was a polugamist, he used adharma to kill bheeshma, drona and karna. But he gave Geetha which is gudie to the whole world. So its better we dont follow his actions but follow the actions of Lord Ram who was a monogamist. I dont know why this devotee had this opinion and we had a big fight and finally he accepted his mistake and said krishna did nothing against vedas and using such a saying "Do as krishna said, not as krishna did" is wrong. Now I am surprised to see Madhav using such statement.Do any other believers have such a belief in your mind? Madhavji what mistake did you find in krishna's actions? Why cant we follow his actions? maadhav
almost all the vedic dhrma gurus have said this: if you want to do as god did, then do as rama did. never do what krishna did. krisha is pUrnNa purushottama. we are apUrna, and not god. krishna did rasa lila. if you do it, someone would kill you. he married thousands of girls. you cannot mary many, else it would be a problem at home. he jumped off a cliff. you cannot do it. he conrolled and subdued seven bulls at the same time. if you try to control one, it would be a challage for life. krishna cheated and lied (for his devotees or to defeart asuras) you cannot do it without suffering karma. still you are free to do it. do it and get the consequence. Guest guest
This discussion from another forum may help. A Advaita baiter posted the following: ***** You say Atman is one but you say Desier for wife is not for wife but Atman. That is conflict. Contradictions. That is core of Advaita. Blindly say one and blindly deny to the half. ************* The following reply was made to him. "It is not desire that Rishi Yajnaavalkya was talkiing about. Do not abuse sages. He said: It is for the love of Self that one loves one's wife etc. And love and desire are not same. God is love. Pure love. Yes, that’s what Br. U. says. You want to dump it? If you do not have the wisdom to understand Rishi Yajnavalka, how will you understand Lord Krishna’s leela? How do you understand the love of 16,000 gopis for the Lord and Lord’s love for them? Gopi’s surely do not indulge in illicit relationship by leaving their husbands at home and engaging in amorous past times with the Lord. All love Lord through their respective loved purushas." And I add: BG 2.24 Acchedyo’yam adaahyo’yam akledyo’shoshya eva cha; Nityah sarvagatah sthaanur achalo’yam sanaatanah. Acchedyo’yam sanaatanah is Lord, who is the root of my so-called aham and manas and shareer. Acchedyo’yam sanaatanah is Acchedyo and He is ‘yam (self), so no question of two atmas or millions of them.
Guest guest
--krisha is pUrnNa purushottama. we are apUrna, and not god. Rama too is poorna purushothama ---krishna did rasa lila. if you do it, someone would kill you. Rasaleela was devotional yoga and was not at all physical.Krishna was 7 years old then. ----he married thousands of girls. you cannot mary many, else it would be a problem at home. polygamy for ksathriyas is permitted in vedas. -----he jumped off a cliff. you cannot do it. he conrolled and subdued seven bulls at the same time. if you try to control one, it would be a challage for life. Rama built a bridge across srilanka and killed many asuras.I cannot also do that ------krishna cheated and lied (for his devotees or to defeart asuras)you cannot do it without suffering karma To defend dharma telling lies is permitted in vedas. Guest guest
"What is wrong in behaving like krishna did?" simply you can't ... you can make a dance with 108 girls in the forest but it has nothing to do with rasa lila actually you cannot imitate even ramachandra, if you marry one wife you expect that your relationship has something to do with God who transcendentally relationates with His eternal energy of love? god is to be followed, not imitated.. the fact that sri ramachandra seems to have a life a little more similar to a human one means nothing.. maadhav
rama is known by valmilkina and tulasidas and all other devotees of rama as maryada purushottama, not as purna purushottama incarnation. other than that, we do not have any serious disagreement.
