Guest guest
would they be pu t into sudra varna, or would it be based on gunas and karma. VHP says that all indian christians would be put into dalit caste no questions asked. why is this? i thought varna based on gunas and karma ? keep in mind that many christians inside such states as kerala and mangalore are ancient brahmin converts. outside christians from punjab, tamilnad, and other areas are generally dalits, though not in all cases. Guest guest
everyone in this universe has gunas and karma and belongs automatically to a varna varna is determined by characteristics and behaviour.. all this ereditary stuff is bogus (actually in kali yuga everyone is an outcaste.. subhuman...) maadhav
<< (actually in kali yuga everyone is an outcaste.. subhuman...) >> not outcast but shudra, which one of the four varnas. not everyone, but most. no one is outcast in krishna's eye. Guest guest
"no one is outcast in krishna's eye." as spiritual souls we are parts of sri krsna, as humans entangled in the material world during kali yuga we are yavana, mleccha only transcendental fully realized spiritualist who come from vaikunta to teach us are noble and pure
maadhav
my corrected lines: not outcast but shudra, which is one of the four varnas. not everyone, but most are shudras in kali yuga. no one is outcast (meaning rejected) in krishna's eye. krishna loves each soul, but jiva's karma make jiva enjoy and suffer. krishna did not say love asuras and adharmis. it is better to do what krishna says than do what he does. Guest guest
Forgive my ignorance, but who is the VHP? Are they some sort of weird twisted group that likes to distort Hinduism for their own advantage? I think that's pretty mean and selfish to label Christian converts to Hinduism as an outcaste. The Bhagavad Gita stated that varna is determind by spiritual qualities and karma.....so if a Christian convert is more pious and devoted, compared to some crackhead born in the Brahmin caste.........isn't it more fair to call that former christian a brahmin? Why should the person who was born into Hinduism, but doesn't even practice it correctly, have the right to be called a Brahmin? Maybe all these people where you live just don't realize that varna was based on guna. Even my own mother, who was born and raised in India, didn't know about all this. I had to show her verses from the Gita. And if Hindus are supposed to follow Krishna's ways, then why are Hindus making such a fuss about who's a dalit and who's not. Shouldn't they also love everybody too, just like Krishna did? Is there going to be a day when this whole caste thing will be eliminated?
