Caste is a problem due to its divisions. To solve the problem, why can't we introduce a new rule which says every hindu is a Brahmin and that there will be no such thing as low-caste, sudra etc. Every Hindu, irrespective of status, former caste, region etc. should be declared Brahmin. In short, the word hindu should become synonymous with Brahmin, that way, there will be no backward class, sudra, dalit etc. who feel offended that they are treated as low-castes, and also there will be divisions.

Only if there are brahmins, kshtriyas, vaisyas and sudras, there is problem between all of them. WHy cant we just eliminate the last three and declare that all hindus from now on will be brahmins and that there will be no other caste? That way, we can solve this problem.

Surely the caste systme works and indeed is completely justified if you believe in the transcendency of mans spirit to a higher for. One of the kep points in the Karmaic cycle, as I understand it, is to rise spiritualy and then in your next life you will be born further up the ladder, so to speak. So to doubt the caste system being fair is also to doubt the wider logic of you being born into what form your Karma denotes.
