Guest guest Report post Posted January 17, 2005 It is exactly what you have opined. Hindu religion is so ancient that no one knows when it began. It has no founder nor a propagator. The word "Hindu" takes its name because ancient people dwelt alongside the "sindhu" river. However, no confirmation on this, just an assumption. Everyone intially belonged to Hindu religion, be it the prophet or christ. Later, due to differences in opinion came out. However, as mentioned above, it was only hinduism that existed before. Another instance, we today consider that Buddhism is a separate religion. However, one must know that the royal family astrologer who saw the "just born" Buddha fell at his feet and saluted him. This was because he foresaw the capacity of Buddha after few years. Astrology is again part of hinduism. So, hinduism is the most ancient, adorable religion.
