barney Posted November 17, 2004 Report Share Posted November 17, 2004 As per the FIR, Ganesh stated that on September 3, 2004, five persons came to the Vardarajaperuamal temple, where Sankararaman was working as manager, at around 17:45 hrs (IST). Two among them rushed inside with sickles and hacked him to death. "The victim and myself cried and I tried to prevent the attack and was injured," Ganesh is stated to have said in the FIR. After the attack, the gang escaped on two motorcycles, Ganesh said. Thiagajaran said the remand report, which he had sought had not been given to him. From the above FIR there is no mentioned of the Avcharaya's name. How could the police arrest the pontiff on mere report stating how the victim was killed? Is this how the TN police work on their case? They would become the laughing stock of the world. It clearly shows lack of knowledge in law and order in the police force of TN.
