Guest guest
What does it mean that "the Gita is metaphorical?" What are its metaphors? Why does Krishna begin his teaching w/a strong affirmation of the Upanishad doctrine of Atman? What ways does Krishnas' teaching include Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga, jnana yoga, and bhakti yoga? What is the relationship among all these forms of Yoga in Krishna's teaching to Arjuna? What is the essential teaching of the Bhavagad Gita? What is its most important message? Guest guest
What does it mean that "the Gita is metaphorical? -gita is not metaphorical, gita is a real dialogue between two real individuals in a real battlefield Why does Krishna begin his teaching w/a strong affirmation of the Upanishad doctrine of Atman? -please explain more What ways does Krishnas' teaching include Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga, jnana yoga, and bhakti yoga? -too long... i hope that others will help What is the relationship among all these forms of Yoga in Krishna's teaching to Arjuna? --krsna is essentially teaching karma/bhakti yoga. Arjuna executing his duties for krsna's pleasure is dedicating to Him his karma (actions) and his bhakti (love) What is the essential teaching of the Bhavagad Gita? What is its most important message? --"tad viddhi pranipatena...." (the extreme importance of a living spiritual guide completely transcendental and pure), "yada yada hi dharmasya.."(krsna is the supreme personality of godhead.. all the manifestations of god in every religion are krsna), "man mana mad bhava bhakto..." (if we think of krsna all our life and activities turn in transcendental devotional service, prayer, meditation, bhava, prema), "sarva dharma..." (the only true religion is to worship the supreme personality of godhead bhagavan sri krsna... he will save us from all our past reactions if we surrender completely to his lotus feet)
