Can a Vedic Chant CD change your Luck?

Hi,

I recently went to a Vedic Astrology site called www.astroved.com and got a reading. I am confused about how the little statues they sell can have impact. Has anyone here ever worked with them? I could not figure out what I needed to do some sort of appeasement to the planets that my chart said to do. If I wanted to appease Saturn would I really have to get a statue and a yantra and a sapphire or would one thing or the other be OK?

 

I did get a CD there something about controlling the 9 planets- a chant from some 6th century sage and have had really really good luck lately. It is a meditation about Siva and a bull. Can a chant really control the planets and change your luck?

 

How do the gemstones work? Are they worth the investment?

 

Any info would be great! Also do you know of any other good sites? I would really like to learn this as it seemed like whoever did the reading knew me for years.
