Guest guest
The people who go to them are easily led and like to believe there is a current incarnation of God on this earth. People like Sai baba has a powerful influence and it's just mass hysteria and 'cult mentality' which causes people to flock to them thinking they are God! It shows how people can be easily influenced. They don't worship Rama or Krishna because they think their guru IS Ram and Krishna. There are also the true sages & yogis who have real spiritual/mystical power who do not seek attention and fame and live a simple life. These types may have a few followers who know about them and do not attract large crowds.
Guest guest
the reason is that people want to see God - especially in India - without actually taking the effort... it's easy to believe that some human is God...saves the effort in meditating upon the Real ABSOLUTE TRUTH... But those people are cheaters being cheated - simple as that...
maadhav
why dont you visit them and experience your self, or ask them directly? BTW, why you want to know it? do you aspire to become one like them?
cdrbvn
thanks for you reply. i just want to know for curiosity sake. i had been to sai baba during my young days and i did not find anything attractive to continue. but since i saw a write up in your forum "Mystical experiences", where mr atmananda had written an article on saibaba, i wanted to know. i have no intentions of becomming like them. thanks
