Dear friends.

I am reading that many biased hindu-nationalist so called "scientists" are trying to fool people into thinking that indians have a common history as a race of people.

The problem is that there are 2 things that should be taken into account.

1. genetic studies have shown that the fair skinned indians, mostly found in the north, are much closer in origin to europeans than to the dark skinned south indians.

And well, genetic studies are quite an exact science...

2. the other thing is that sanskrit is more closely related to european than to south-indian languages. And I don't mean slightly more...

So, I wonder, what is in the interest of these people...

I know that in the past foreign scientists were fueled by racist colonialism, that made them look down on indians... It seems from research, though, that they were still closer to the truth than the modern day fundamentalists...

Aum Namah Shivaya!

Shantaram

as usual. Genetic studies also prove that some subraces in the white race (like Anglo-Saxons) have more in common with Blacks than they do with Teutonics. But both teutons and anglo-saxons are as white as can be. Yet anglo-saxons have more in common with blacks than with fellow white teutons. So what is your conclusion now? That blacks are also anglo-saxons because genetic studies prove that they have a lot in common??? dont be stupid. All Indians are the same, some ppl with more color and others with less, some of them tall and others short. It is immaterial. It is strange why Tamils suffer from terrible inferiority complex, when they brag about their so-called 'ancient culture" all too often. South Indians should give up this color complex. BTW: I am tamil too, so i am not being biased here, I am trying to be objective. North and SOuth Indians shoudl be united, that is my view.

Of course the ignorant biased racists will try and turn around the situation as if they are doing the real science and are unbiased. The same thing they were doing since day one and will continue to do.

even if south indins are of diffrent race than north,

sanatana dharma does not give importance to it.

the fact is that all -most indians are sanatana dharmis.

that - the vedas- gita the vedic literature is uniting us, and the land.

unbiased hindu religious institutions should conduct the studied. then only we could believe the conclusion.

From my understanding, South Indians AND North Indians are classified as Caucasoids, but they are a different branch that of whites. Anthropologists consider Indians as a whole to be very distant racial relatives to Europeans.

Skin color has nothing to do with race. There are jet-black Indians with chiseled, sharp features (thin nose, thin lips, straight hair, etc), and anthropologists will still classify them as Caucasoids. There are light Indians that have somewhat wider noses or semitic, hooked noses, and fuller lips.

Do keep in mind that there are numerous exceptions to the rule, and that you will find many fair South Indians and many darker North Indians. I think it's safe to say that there is a unified South Asian look among all of us. There are white people that easily tell who's Indian and who's not, regardless of how dark or light they are.

Some say that there is a tiny minority in India that is purely of the Australoid race, and there are some Negros (The Siddhi tribe). But, the Negros were most likely to be later brought by foreign traders as slaves, etc. There is no indication that they were a part of ancient Indian civilization.

But, these are all just theories and there are so many different viewpoints. Some anthropologists say that Indians are a mixture of Caucasian and Asian (Oriental) ancestry, while others say we are a mixture of Caucasoid and Australoid ancestry.

In the end, it doesn't really matter what race we are, it's our character. I agree that both North Indians and South Indians should be reunited. I'm North Indian, and I don't see South Indians as being different from me. Some are significantly darker than me, but that's only because of the climate. Their facial features, hair, physique, and bone structure are no different from myself. I'm sure I would get darker if I spent time in the deep South.

What are you talking about?? Anglo-Saxons are Teutonic! the angles and saxons were at one point two tribes living side by side in Germany. Teutonic is the term used to describe these people collectively as there is no racial variation between them.

if you want to define the two major groups of the 'white race' as you call it, they are generaly called Teutonic/Germanic (Western Europe) and Slavic (Eastern Europe).

Prolonged experience and common sense tells anybody that sub-saharan congoids are genetically closer to Anglo-Saxons than some other Europid sub-race.

Be very suspicious of political agenda when a supposed "scientist" tells you these things.

Sounds like '70s "peace, love, harmony, buy the world a Coke idealism" more than reasonable macro-genetic understanding of anthropology.
