Thanks. 1.How was Hinduism founded? 2.Where are some locations at present? 3.What are some important practices of this religion? 4.What are the similarities and differences when compared to Roman Catholicism? 5.Where was the locations of the earliest groups? We ourselves are not clear what hinduism is, as some sects are claiming that they are not hindus. So any answer will be inappropriate at this time. Guest guest Posted April 15, 2004 Report Share Posted April 15, 2004 1)hinduism is not an exact name... let us say vedas..... they are eternal 2)vrindavana, tirupati, jagannath puri, badhrinath, kedarnath, ramesvaram, kuruksetra, mathura, ayodya... i can continue for thousands pages 3)spiritual initiation by a guru, reciting mantras, worshipping sacred images of god or his associates (devatas) 4)a big difference is that catholicism has an evolutionist concept of providence.. universe is created, man loses his closeness to god, christ comes and gives the possibility to man to regain his status, then world comes at the end and good people go to paradise and bad go to hell. In vedas the existence is eternal, no one takes birth no one dies, world is eternal even if in permanent change, and constantly some souls lose their closeness to god and some others, after maybe billions of lives in the suffering of material world, are able to go back in their original natural condition through the study and practices of religion.
