Need a yoga guru in Dubai (UAE)

Why not? Yoga in ME, yeah that will be the day! Do you want Yoga teachers to lose their heads, cuz that's what happens if you teach anything but islam in those barbaric nations. Are you sooooo heartless as to sacrifice the yoga teachers???? What did they ever do to you?

how many hindus live there?

 

doing what they earn their living?

 

do they dress and look like hindus or like the neighbor muslims?

 

what attitude the muslims there have towards non muslims?

 

are more hindus coming there or leaving from there?

 

it is the community thta would find a right guru

by direct contact.

 

till they find one, may they read gita, ramayan, and mahabharat, etc.

In the UAE the vast majority of the population is Indian; you have Hindus, Christians and Boris. Out of the total population, 80% is expat and out of the 80% expat, around 60% is ... Indian. The Indians dress as they want, and signs of religion/faith are openely worne. Some Indians are very succesful from a financial/business standpoint, some have been living in the UAE for a very long time. There are much more Indians coming to the UAE than leaving the UAE.

 

Any religion or philosophy can be followed and practised openely. There are churches, hindu temples, and of course mosques. I have not heard of a synagogue though. Dubai is by far THE MOST open minded and welcoming emirate.

 

Re. yoga in the UAE, yoga classes are given in a lot of places and advertized in the papers. In some public parks, one may go and follow yoga in the open. In the classes, not only Western expats do come, but Arab muslims. I started yoga in the UAE and discovered a lot about Hinduism in Dubai; then, we travelled to India.

 

In other words, the Arabs in the UAE are not what one of the guests implied in his mail: they allow diversity. Next to a mosque, you have a church; next to another mosque, you have a Krishna temple full of devotees.

 

Stereotypes are hard to discard.

 

Thank you; yes, I will ask the community (there are so many yoga teachers in the different emirates that one has to get a good reference to find a good one !).

but it is hard to imagine Muslim countries as anything but fanatical. It is not a stereotype, but reality for most ppl. Hope you understand. Perhaps, if you guys stopped killing innocents, then we wouldn't have this image of the roguish Middle Easterner. Make that change. This is my advice.

dear madhav....the scene is already changing. atleast here in dubai..we hindu's are very comfortable and do not feel threatened byt the fanatics.

this city has been opening up to international community since the past decade and the rulers of this emirate are aware of the various cultures thriving in the city.

We have everything from daily ssatsangs , sahej yog classes, bhajans,kirtans going on ...on all the days of the week.

there have been many spiritual leaders visting this place like Sudhanshu Maharaj,Dada Vaswani,Gita Ashram Gurus and im sure many unheard.

but at the end of it , i think the situation is grim in other middle eastern countries. Not in Dubai.

still, the fact is that these muslims of dubai are not living per the word of koran and hadith, and that is why there is peace. being so, the hindu gurus i wish could encourage the muslims of dubai to give up islam.

reason? why keep it when it is barbaric inprinciple?

they will not loose anything by giving up islam.

it does not matter if they pick another religion or not.

but for them to say, "we are muslims", and not do jihad is hypocracy. after giving it up, some of them could encourage the arab world to do the same.

 

if all the muslims of palestine become jews, give up islam, then this bitter never ending fight there will end in a minute. thus, there are solutions, but the ignorance and ego comes in the way.

 

there are other solutions too, for the problem.

I am the one who posted the first post re. yoga teacher in Dubai and the post re. the situation in Dubai. You seem to know what is going on here and hence, you may well know of where to go to get a good yoga teacher. if so, i would welcome the help. Thank you.

well, it was their country some 2-3 thousand years ago.

they were the slaves of arabs, and built the pyramids.

then after moses' time they got scattered all over the world.

 

others know better history about them than i do.
