Guest guest
What if a theocratic state (country based on religious law) was created using vedic scripture and the Bhagavad Gita as guidelines? What would this country be like and what would the government structure consist of? I would assume that the main executive power would be the "King" or "Rajan" and then there would be a council of religious scholars who have shown spritual aptitude. The Rajan would perhaps be appointed by this council based on personal merits and abilities as per the vedic injunctions on how a king should be. I do not know the details of vedic scripture on the king's conduct and government in general so I would be grateful if someone could englighten me on this subject. This topic has facinated me for some time, imagine: a country based on the divine law of Krishna himself!
maadhav
bhishma, while on the bed of arrows, describes the dharma karma of a king to yudhishthir. plese see mahabharat, bhishma parva probably. if the current democracy of india has a body of vedic gurus as volunteer advising committee and accepted by the public, and if the ministers and gov.servants follow gita and gurus' instructions, then india would become a hindu rajya. It presents to the hierarchs extremely high demand: the gov. must succeed in both religious & political fields. That's why it doesn't prevail in current age. Guest guest
i don't really understand the qquestion. Isn't "hinduism much too varied in belief and "caste" to sustain any such setup?
