Marisvc 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 My name is Maristela. Recently, I received mantra dikshaand spiritual name but I have some doubts about it. I have been practicing yoga and studying (as much as I can) for just four years. I read a lot about filosophy because I enjoy it, and may be because that I am a bit cofused about my name and mantra. My spiritual name is Vaishnavi. I have been searching for the meaning of the name in the Internet. The most clear meaning for me is "Vishnu follower", I read some more explanations about: one of the matrikas, some aspect of Lakshmi etc. Besides, my mantra is a mantra for Shiva and my simbol is related with Siva as well. For me, it looks like a "dichotomy" because the different aspects of the deities. I my ocidental "backgrounds", in the truth, I am not a Vishnu follower. In the other hand how can I be a Vishnu follower (my name) and do mantras and meditation in Shiva? Is all of this subjective?
