Continuity of Consciousness from Physical State to Astral State

When I started reading Chrism's article on the KAS1 site I was elated to find an

article on ascendency. One of my goals is to develop this ability and be able

to move from the physical plane to the astral plane without a break in

consciousness anytime I want to. I would hope to be able to do this especially

at the time of my physical death. I understand that constantly reminds

everyone to practice the safeties and not to focus on phenomenon.

 

My question is what is the definition of phenomenon. Is everything that the

Kundalini generates considered phenomenon, or are there some things generated by

Kundalini that are considered worthy goals in and of themselves such as

continuity of consciousness or even an ability to heal?

 

If it is alright to pursue this goal are there things a person could do to

ensure that this ability will develop in themselves?

 

Chrism also states that we should surrender to the Kundalini, but is it alright

to ask the Kundalini to help you attain this/a goal without compromising the

integrity of your practice?
