My first Shaman Sweat

Well, I did it :-) I went to my first Shaman Sweat Lodge. I only had a vague

idea of what it would be like, and it ended up to be a very interesting

experience.

The lodge was much smaller than I expected, it looked like an Igloo made of

wood. I was asked to crawl in and bless the lodge and welcome the ancestors with

my white sage insense. To my surprise I discovered a half dozen daddy long leg

spiders,yicks !!, I chased them out with the sage ;-) The sweat was suppose to

last 90 minutes but it ended up more than 3 hours long :-P I didn't think a

human being had that much water in them!

When entering the lodge, I could feel my tongue and throat area vibrate, I made

sure my tongue stayed on the soft palet, I was very excited and intriqued by all

the experiences I was having.

I will say my first chakra (sexual energy?) was roaring. It was a very intense

vibration all area my base. I focused on moving the energy up the spine by

clenching feminine muscles/or kegel exercises. This sensation was experienced

through all 4 rounds of the sweat. It was, to say the least, very blissful and

powerful. During the entire sweat, I was rocking/swaying involuntary, as if

something was moving me around. It was difficult to remain still.

The only vision I had inside the black light was an image of an eye, it appeared

to be a feminine eye.

I must say, wow, it was damn hot in there, but I absolutely loved the challenge

of the intense heat. The herbs used inside were glorious and intoxicating. One

herb was Lavender that was incredible!

I may be participating in the sweat from now on, once a month if I can. If

anything, its a great workout!
