THE ESSENCE OF RIBHU GITAThe following verses constitute the teachings of Siva to Ribhu,who in turn transmits those teachings to his disciple Nidhaga Rishi.The treatise goes by the name Ribhu Gita.`Sahaja Nishta' or The Natural State56.* Firmly abiding in the Self one acquires the totality ofall knowledge and achieves the successful completion of allendeavours and duties. In that state one should abide blissfuland still, eschewing the least ripple of thought. (Ch.26, v.25)57. Mind merged completely in the Self, one becomes alord without rival-steeped in bliss beyond compare. In that stateone should abide still, free from the least trace of thought.(Ch.26, v.28)58. I am that Self which is integral existence awarenessbliss,the sole impartite Brahman-Self. Firm in the convictionborn of this experience, one should abide still, free from theleast trace of thought. (Ch.26, v.29)59. In the conviction that `I am the Self ' in which nothought, ego, desire, mind or confusion can exist one shouldabide still, free from trace of thought. (Ch.26, v.31)* Verses 51 to 60 herein deal with practice of `Abedha Nishta or Atma Nishta' —non-dual state or abidance in the Self.
