Dear Friends ,

I have received the following communication from Sri Ganesan, Bhagavan's grand

nephew, and previous Editor of the Mountain Path. He is now in the USA. He has

given me permission to pass it on to the Group.

Love to all,

Alan

> " ' LOVE ' IS EVER A GREAT STRENGTH "

> Offer prayers to the Inner Guru and WAIT ! The

> direction you seek [from some one] as what you

> should do, will clearly come from within !

> You're thus always guided; and, never forsaken !

> Have faith !

>

> We are ever guided by the " Higher Power " ! The

> 'Inner Guru' , residing in the Heart, gives us a

> push to 'act' ! Without identifying oneself as the

> 'actor', but fully conscious of the Higher Force operating

> 'through' oneself, any action should be done !

> The Higher Power knows what is best !

> Never a 'you' , nor 'he' nor an'I' ! " I AM is the Way,

> the Life and the Goal " ! " I AM " is the

> Higher Power !

>

> Sri Bhagavan was once asked by the close attendant,

> T.P. Ramachanda Iyer: " Bhagavan ! I'm all the

> time in your presence, practising the 'Teaching'. I

> have the greatest respect for the 'Teaching'. I fully

> realise that 'I am not the body'. Yet, the idea :

> 'I-am-the-body', does not easily leave me. Why ? "

> The Great Master replied " " For hundred of years,

> birth after birth, one has firmly identified with

> the 'I-am-the-body-idea'. For the first time, now,

> you are awakened to the truth that you are NOT

> the body. Is it that easy to erase the fundamental

> error ? Effort, constant effort, is very essential. "

>

> [Later one day, TPR explained to me that giving up

> of the 'I-am-the-body-idea' is not to ignore the

> body as a physical fact (which is an impossibility and an

> unreal and unhealthy attitude). It is comparable to one

> having a 'mirage' experience. That is, after one coming

> to know that it is only a 'mirage' and that

> there is no water in it at all, still the person would be

> seeing the 'mirage' ! But, he would not be 'duped' ever ! He will not run

after it for quenching his thirst !

> In the same way, when one awakens to the the danger of having an

'I-am-the-body-idea' attitude, one would still be indulging with the body, but

with the certainty and conviction that one has never been the body and never

will be.]

>

> The Great Master Bhagavan Ramana --

> came to free every one of us ! Any expression [ in

> any one ] of " you are less than me " , has nothing to do

> with the Guru Principle ! 'Freedom' is the GURU !

>

> Robert Adams was once asked: " Why there are

> false gurus ? " His answer was instant : " Because

> there are false disciples ! "

>

> Let us wake ourselves up and dedicate ourselves

> to the Truth and for the good cause of IT's spreading,

> by allowing ourselves " To be the channel for the

> 'White Light' to pass through. "

>

> Let us prayerfully listen to the Holy Words of

> the Great Master, Bhagavan Ramana :

>

> " So long as you seek Self-Realisation the Guru is

> necessary. Guru is the Self. Take Guru to be

> the Real Self and your self as the individual self.

> The disappearance of this sense of duality is

> removal of ignorance. So long as duality persists

> in you the Guru is necessary. Because you identify

> yourself with the body you think the Guru too

> to be some body. You are not the body, nor

> is the Guru. You are the Self and so is the Guru.

> This Wisdom is gained by what you call Self-Realisation. "

>

> D.: How can one know whether a particular

> individual is competent to be a Guru ?

>

> M.: By the peace of mind found in his presence and

> by the sense of respect you feel for him.

>

> --- " TALKS WITH SRI RAMANA MAHARSHI " ,

> No.282

>

> Let us shower Love that surges from the Heart

> on all ! All are the forms of God !

>

>

> You are ever in my Heart !

>

> Love,

> Ganesan.
