My Mother about 1 cup lard in 12 inch steel frying pan 70 years ago Heated the

pan until the lard would pop when she wold put French fry shaped raw potatoes

in the pan Sprinkle salt to taste over tops of potatoes Brown as for hash

browns turn potatoes covered pan
