I have to say english is not my talking language, so please be patient and

understanding while reading my message and dont laugh at me if it's clumsy. :-)

My name is Tyron(Tyson-Ronnie)Lee (you can call me Leo, that's my zodiac) from

Beijing, China, male, a newcomer here, but not a tyro on veg. I am a lacto

vegetarian, and part time lacto-ovo, eating eggs only at breakfast. I am also a

sugar abstainer, so sugar-free yogurt and chewing gum are my favorites. Reasons

for that include weight loss (I weigh 126 lbs) and teeth safeguard. And I am

also a marathon lover, my best record is 3hr 40min. I jog every other day for 21

kilos at the speed of 13k/h. Regularly I fast (no banning on water, but only

pure tea and boiled water) for 10-12 hours once a week, almost at the weekdays

(I am not a muslim, not buddhist or taoist either, but I am inclined to Tao). I

have been on fasting for exactly five years and on veg since 1st May, 2005. I

had kicked the habit of drinking coffee three years ago. I go to work

riding racing bike and climb the stairs instead of taking elevator. " Running

rather than biking, biking

rather than walkng, walking rather than sitting " is my principle, So you see,

that's me.

When it comes to recipe, I would be very proud to offer my own. That is PYVERTA

(pie-ver-ta), which stands for the combination of:

Peanuts (or almond, walnut, hazelnut)

Yogurt

Vegetables (green pepper, tomato, potato, cabbage, broccoli, carrot are my

favorites)

Eggs

Rice

Tea (green tea is the best) and Tofu (soybean curd)

Apple (red fuji)

Sorry I am no enthusiast for cooking, so that my recipe is pretty simple, but I

can live on this. Of course, this list wont be all. For example, sesame,

Jew's-ear, red date, shallot, peach, mandarin and orange are also my love.

You know, living in China is good and bad. Saying good because vegetables and

Tofu are really cheap, and especially Tofu is available almost everywhere,

where you could buy it either from supermarkets or even small retailers. Well,

actually my everyday meals are random combinations of any kind of bean

products and any kind of vegetables. The dark side is that vegetarians

only appear in the internet or TV program, I have not met any comrades in my

daily life. We have strong culture, tradition and experiences on this, but

unfortunately, mostly lie in the medical books or regimen works written by some

historical figures thousands of years ago. Sigh...

All right, that's my introduction, hope you like it. Have a nice day.

Leo, welcome to the group! Your English is very good, you have nothing to be

embarrassed about -- I don't know a word of Chinese! :)
