I love to hear about your gardening. I've finally got my vegetable and herb

gardens planted. I've got burpless and pickling cucumbers, yellow crookneck

and zuchinni squash, swiss chard(still doing well from planing it in the fall),

several varieties of tomatoes, okra, all kinds of sweet and hot peppers, mint,

garlic chives, parsley, cilantro, rosemary, strawberries and I think that is

about it. My fig trees are covered in little green figs that will ripen next

month, japanese persimmons trees that have several fruit on them, and blue berry

bushes that are about a year old.

I too love to hear about everyone's garden, I planted part of mine last

weekend. I don't have a lot of space so I have a some heirloom tomatoes,

plus some plain old red plum and big boy tomatoes, a couple of zucchini and a

couple of golden zucchini, 1 red bell, 1 yellow bell and 1 purple bell

pepper plants. And of course my chocolate mint plant comes back every year.

I still need to get a cucumber plant or 2 and my basil, parsley, oregano

and rosemary plants.

I love having fresh veggie. although technically everything I planted is a

fruit.

Last year even though I planted zucchini I didn't get a one, I think I am

the only person who can have zucchini plants and not get any zucchini.

Jeanne:

That is a funny visual: last year I think they just were overpowered by

my tomato plants as had a lot in my small space.

Years ago when I still had my house I planted zucchini one year, all the

plants had flowers however I didn't get one zucchini. I did get cucumbers,

tomatoes, romaine lettuce, not one zucchini.

Enjoy the dehydrator.

I bet your neighbors were so terrified that you'd offer them fresh

zucchini they came over at night and snipped off the flowers. Hehehehe. I can

imagine it now " OMG she's planting ZUCCHINI! Someone save us! "

My neighbors get like that when the fig trees have produced bumper crops.

They run and hide and disconnect their doorbells. This year will be

different because Carl got me the 9 tray Excalibur dehydrator I was longing for

so

they aren't getting any of my little figgies. Drool.
