I also like black cumin (nigella). I added it to my last batch of oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies, along with chipotle and the usual seasonings. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 Chipotle is smoked and dried jalapeno peppers -- I buy it ground up. It's spicy but not as hot as other types of chili. I got some because some of the interesting recipes in one of Dreena Burton's cookbooks called for it, and I liked it. I've used it in hummus, too.
