Hey and welcome. Congrats on becoming vegan. Tell those people who say 'why

don't you just eat meat?' and 'I don't get why you couldn't just stay

vegetarian' - 'why don't you just butt out?'. Tell them to mind their own

business, it's your life and you have the right to do what you want! They

should get the message! They can like it or lump it!

I've found the best response is to ask people why they eat meat - when you

think about it, that's a far harder question to answer because for most

people it's something they've never thought about! Anyway, there's plenty of

us here to chat to :-)

In the classic cartoons, my faves have got to be Marvin The Martian

and the roadrunner and the coyote. The ones with daffy duck and the

pig really get on my nerves now.

I'm really weird though, I often find myself cringing at things that

happen in cartoons, (like when they get thrown into sharp pointy

things) it's pretty bad when you cringe at cartoons, imagine how bad

I am when ppl talk about when they got their belly button pierced...

major arm flailing and squealing on my part!

Cartoons are cool, but I don't rule the roost there.

Me son Zak gets to pick

tho sounds like he wouldn't mind watching with you :)

congrats on yer choice of becoming vegan

it can be difficult, but well worth it

my fav question I get asked is " won't you die if you don't eat meat "

or something to the liking ;)

nikki :)

The present time has one advantage over every other; it is our own.

I can totally deal with ppl asking me questions - well asking's not

really the word, they're just constantly trying to catch me out and

then start talking about how I'm being evil to vegetables by eating

them... that actually makes me feel bad cos I really do hate killing

ANYTHING, but I can't live on just eating fruits and nuts.

I had to put up with most of the questions when I was veggie for

around 8 years, but now even my mum's started hassling me some, it

just kinda gets at me, but I totally know I've made the right choice,

being an animal & environment mad vegan is the thing I love about

myself the most even if it's what makes most of the world think I'm a

freak - hey I did get a guy the other day saying he didn't really

understand it, but he had respect for me cos he said there was no way

he'd be able to stick to not eating meat or certain kinds of

chocolate or alcohol... although that was after interrogating me for

half an hour *shrugs* at least he was nice near the end.

Oh yeah - I'd completely forgotten about Marvin Martin: " Oh goody - after

five thousand years of work, my illudium pew 36 explosive space

modulatorrrr " :-)

I like Daffy Duck, but not fond of Porky Pig. I also have to admit to a

certain liking for Elmer Phud :o)

Yeah - but since it takes 10 kilos of vegetable protein to produce one kilo

of meat protein, anyone eating meat is causing 10 times more death than the

average vegan. And since we've got to eat something....

That's a bit of an ignorant comment - most Westerners are repulsed by the

idea of eating dog meat - I'm sure he sticks to that without any problems!

This is exactly what you must tell your mum - the perfect explanation.

old daffy duck rocked...that is until he turned into a foil fer every other

character...originally he was fun and much more of a wise guy then bugs....but,

they gave that personality to bugs bunny, and daffy first turned into a foil fer

bugs, then into a foil fer everyone, from speedy gonzales to porky....
