I would like to offer my PERSONAL advice. Take it as an opinion; Then if you can, copy and paste your email and my reply to a fresh email for Dr.Doug Graham at Raw/Sport on www.vegsource.com and await a reply. If you are in the CA area I can recommend attending www.rawstock.us on 26th-29th August - Organised by Dave Klein of www.livingnutrition.com. It is not an expensive event. You will be able to meet Dr.Doug Graham, or make yourself an appointment with him personally. Ok.. Now stop listening to Steve Arlin and listen up!! Eating all that fat and greens works but for a few and even for those individuals - only a matter for time usually. The body is designed to get it's fuel from sugar (fruit) I suggest that you increase your sweet fruit consumption to above that of your energy expenditure so that you have " excess " calories to put on muscle weight. Then work heavy weights daily with low repetitions. Invest in some personal training sessions or books if you must, but do not listen to their faulty dietary recommendations because the advice will be cooked! The timing of your meals is crucial as is plenty of rest, sleep and STRETCHING or you will end up with short bulky muscles, aches and strains. You need to have good sweet meal of fruits before you train. Try not to drink too much during your workouts but maintain hydration at all costs. After your workout eat very soon - more sweet fruit. A couple of hours later you can eat a leafy green salad using avocado ONLY as fat. You mention nothing of your gender, weight, build? So I can only assume that 1/2 an avocado is plenty. You may need to eat about 4 meals a day one of which will be a salad with avocado. You do not need more fat or more protein to build muscle/work out. You need more calories, in which your protein/fat ratio will naturally increase.. I am not an expert in this field so do seek out some professional experience to top up this advice. I will pass this message onto a friend of mine who may like to offer a few comments.. Namaste Kay x
