WhimsyT The biggest difference between plants and animals is that plants do not have a brain, a nervous system, or pain receptors, while animals have the capacity to feel pain, emotions, fear, and terror at being slaughtered. So why do we call some animals " pets " and other animals " dinner " ?
Guest guest
Whimsey, where do you live? Actually there are conferences like this around the country. I might be able to point you to some others. Sometimes the names sound like something else, but you will get a LOT of good information about living a healthy vegetarian life style at vegetarian conferences (like Great American Meatouts each spring and NAVS Summerfest and AVS conferences), animal rights conferences, farmed animal activist events and natural hygiene conferences. Even some yoga conferences and new age type events cover this topic. from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, http://www.petsincondos.org South Florida Vegetarian Events, http://www.soflavegevents.net
