Guest guest
I hadn't heard of these until you mentioned them so I looked them up at www.amazon.com and while all the parents swear by them, a supposed Dr. says to watch out for the ingredients: I am a pediatrician and a mom-to-be. I recently was asked about the safety of this product by a parent and looked up the ingredients. Two of them are " Belladonna " (also known as " deadly nightshade " ) which can have many adverse side effects and is usually known as a poison, and " Caffea Cruda " (ie, pure coffee) which will just caffeinate your baby. I advise parents to please avoid them and stick with Tylenol, teething rings, and patience. Also, they have lactose: Active Ingredients:Active Ingredients: Calcarea Phosphorica 3X HPUS (supports dentition), Chamomilla 3X HPUS (irritability), Coffea Cruda 3X HPUS (wakefulness & diuresis), Belladonna 3X HPUS 0.0003% Alkaloids (redness & inflammation) .. Inactive Ingredients:Lactose NF. Just thought I'd share. Amy M. Geneva, Switz.
Guest guest
I'm not a Dr. I am a parent and have been a wholistic practitioner for 19 yrs. I work with herbs as well as homeopathics. I'm not sure if you have worked with homeopathic remedies before. These remedies are safe for pregnant and nursing moms, babies and animals. Because of homeopathic principles, when analyzed, the ingredients are not perceptible. Under regular conditions, the ingredients are dangerous, but in this form, very benign. Just my 2 cents, Laura
Guest guest
It is true these ingredients are not something to be fooled with in their normal form. However, homeopathic remedies actually do not contain the ingredient. These prepartions are diluted (that is what the 30X and so forth means) and shaked. There is no remainder of the belladonna etc when tested. It is the energy of the active ingredient that is supposed to work. I have limited experience with homeopathics in my work but I have attended several seminars. Also, when ordering from the manufacturer for my practice, I was asked for my DEA # for those preparations that " contain " scheduled drugs (opium ...)When I asked why the rep said there is NO drug left in the prep but there was to make it so I still had to give my DEA #. Many times there is milk in the coating of a homeopathic tablet.
