RE: [baarn] Whole Foods

Hi,

Viva!USA was coordinating events against Whole Foods for almost 3 years. We had activists all over the bay area working with us. Since October we have declared a moratorium on our campaign.

Whole Foods does NOT and HAS NOT sold foie gras. It is a company policy. They did not during our campaign and they still do not.

In fact, as part of our campaign moratorium with Whole Foods, it seems that part of their agreement with Grimaud Farms, is that they will have to sever ties with Sonoma Foie Gras. This means SFG will no longer be able to get ducks from Grimaud Farms and Grimuad will no longer be able to distribute the foie gras.

Whole Foods is taking a serious stance on this issue.

Their CEO is also now vegan.

To read more about the arrangement go to:

If you have questions, etc - PLEASE ask me. Currently WFM is working with animal rights and animal welfare groups for standards for all of their farmed animals. We do not want to jeopardize this.

Plus it seems that Farm Sanctuary's campaign is focused on restaurants. Maybe it is best to support their efforts.

More on foie gras to come later today....
