Guest guest
Hello again, SBVS listserve members-- I hope you are having an enjoyable Summer! For those folks who attended the Star Party this past weekend, you all have experienced how much fun SBVS events can be! The weather was perfect, the skies were crystal clear, the Skyline Ridge event location was ideal, and the food and company were superb! Thanks to all who attended this event for making it such a fun and enjoyable evening! In the event that you were unable to attend the 7/13 Star Party-- SBVS will be holding another one on SATURDAY, AUGUST 10th. The location for the event has been selected--but it will be kept a " secret " for a little while...as I am in the process of obtaining the necessary permits to allow SBVS members to camp-out at the site! If you think that you would be interested in attending the next Star Party on August 10th and would like to spend the night camping-out, please send me a brief e-mail at beckerhead indicating that you would like to participate so that I can get a rough headcount for the number of campsites that SBVS has to secure. Please respond by SUNDAY, JULY 21st, 2002, so that I will provide the total number to the campsite directors. ------- In other SBVS news, here's an update from the most recent SBVS planning meeting held at Memorial Park in Cupertino on Sunday, 7/7. Much appreciation is extended to all who attended-- especially newcomers Dina H. and Dave O.--plus SBVS 'regulars' Dave P, Glenn R, Sarah K, and Robin G. A job well done and much thanks to all! Although a telescope is nice, binoculars will do just fine...and if all else fails, we will be doing mostly " naked-eye " astronomy.
