Bean Burgers

Recipe By :Meg G.

Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:00

Categories : Vegan

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

1 pound black beans, or beans similar in size and

consistency, such as dark red kidneys -- soaked

overnight, drained

1 15-oz can whole kernel corn

8 ounces barbecue sauce -- any flavor, up to 10 oz

1 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs

Put all ingredients into a blender until beans are crushed and ingredients well

mixed. Start with smallest amounts of BBQ sauce and

breadcrumbs; adjust amounts if mix is too dry or wet.

Pat into burgers. Broil for 5 minutes per side OR fry in a small amount of oil

for 3 minutes per side. Burgers stay together

better if broiled.

Mix can also be made into a loaf. Mix makes 12 medium to large burgers, 2

medium loaves. or 10 " meat " balls (use a cupcake tin!)
