Guest guest Posted March 5, 2001 Report Share Posted March 5, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Broiled Mushrooms Teriyaki Recipe By : Nava Atlas Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Side Dishes Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 tablespoons organic low-sodium teriyaki sauce 1 teaspoon organic toasted sesame oi 1 tablespoon organic rice vinegar OR white wine vinegar 1 tablespoon organic honey OR brown-rice syrup 1 pound fresh organic mushrooms -- * see note *This recipe calls for 1 pound fresh organic mushrooms (portobello, shiitake, cremini, oyster or a combination). Adjust to suit your needs or taste. Preheat broiler. Combine the first four ingredients in a mixing bowl. Wipe the mushrooms clean with a damp paper towel. If using, shiitakes, remove and discard the stems. Leave the mushrooms whole (or slice large portobellos 1/4-inch thick). Combine the mushrooms with the teriyaki mixture and stir together. Arrange in a shallow foil-lined pan and pour any excess marinade over them. Broil for 4 minutes, stir, and continue broiling until the mushrooms turn dark with charred spots, about 4 to 5 minutes longer. Remove from the broiler and transfer to a serving dish. *AUTHOR'S NOTES* This side dish complements Asian noodles or rice dishes.
