Guest guest
Hi! I am in search of a vegan tuna recipe preferably made with TVP but I am willing to try anything. Enjoy your weekend! TIA, Becky
Guest guest
Ever try Tuno? It comes in a can like tuna. They sell it in natural food stores, usually by the tuna fish cans. It's made by Natural Touch. You could probably log on and see where they sell it in your area. It tastes great and is easy to use in recipes, to make tuno salad sandwiches, etc. http://www.naturaltouch.com
Guest guest
Tuno is also sold under the Worthington brand name, which like Natural Touch appears to be a part of Kellogg's. It makes good 'tuna' salad and it can be formed into balls or patties, breaded and pan fried. It's tasty. -- Be kind. Be of good cheer. Guest guest
There is a wonderful vegan tuna recipe in the Nutritional Yeast Cookbook that uses mashed chickpeas as the base. Here is the recipe: 1 1/2 cups cooked or canned chickpeas, coarsely chopped in food processor 1/4 cup finely chopped celery 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 3 to 4 T soy mayonnaise 1 T nutritional yeast 1 T lemon juice 1/8 t paprika salt and pepper to taste Mix all ingredients and chill. I have also added chopped pickles. Basically, you can make tuna however you used to make it, just use the mashed chickpeas instead of tuna and sub Nayonaise (or your favorite vegan mayo). It is remarkably similar to traditional tuna salad.
