vegetarian food is bad for you!

If you're on a vegetarian diet when you're pregnant with a son, he's

five times more likely to suffer from hypospadias, a condition in

which the urethra opens below the tip of the penis. Vegetarians may

also suffer loss of sexual function (which could avoid the pregnancy

problem), while vegan diets deficient in minerals and vitamins can

lead to blindness.

On the other hand, non-vegetarian food is also bad for you, and

so is everything else! Don't believe me? Check out

Ignorance is responsible for much of societies problems. I question

why you would choose to join a vegetarian group if you hold such

beliefs. Maintaining a healthy, vegetarian lifestyle has plenty to do

with education since many of us were not experienced as children.

No one faults you for having limited understanding, but since you are

making statements instead of asking questions, I don't have much to

say to you. David/oregon

From what I understand Hyposspadias is not caused by a mom's vegetarian diet. It can be caused when a mom consumes too much phytoestrogen while pregnant. Phytoestrogens are found in soy. However, a mom would have to consume major, major, major amounts of soy for this to happen. Probably much more soy than any one of us on this list eat. I have a seven month old and I was vegetarian while pregnant. He turned out fine. I did, however, eat less soy than I normally would just in case. Soy was still an important part of my diet though.
