I had never heard of it, nor had our produce merchandiser, Joe Hardimann. It appears to be a bleach product sprayed on produce to keep it looking fresher. PCC is a certified organic retailer, however, so you can rest assured it's not used on our produce or deli foods. It seems like the *opposite* of organic!
