Guest guest
" If you are eating " at least 2000 calories per day " , AND if you are physically active, then you are either WAY undereating, or you are miscounting by a wide margin. " Elchanan, Thanks for your fine contributions to this list, with which I mostly agree. I must disagree with the above, however, if you meant it as a general rule. It might be true in reference to new raw fooders (who need to overeat to manage cleansing symptoms), but I've known a couple long term (12-15 years), high-fruit, low-fat eating raw fooders who eat around that range or even less while being extremely physically active and maintaining normal weight. TC Fry also mentioned in his lectures some tribal cultures whose very active, long-living, mostly fruit-eating male members ate around 1,500 calories a day. I know that I feel better when I " way undereat " according to DG's standards and I feel even better when I do this and remain very active (2-3 hour hikes) as well. Imo, it takes a lot less to fuel a human body on fruit than is commonly thought, especially when the body reaches a certain level of digestive and metabolic efficiency.
