Living Light Culinary Arts Institute is looking for a few good Kitchen

Apprentices for our 2005 Chef Trainings

 

Would you like to learn what it takes to run the kitchen during one of

our raw food chef and instructor trainings? Would you enjoy being in

the kitchen with some of the world's top raw food chefs and

instructors? Are you a humble, loving, good-natured individual, who

appreciates the Zen of dish washing and other simple, but important

kitchen tasks? Do you enjoy working in a community of loving beings

who are passionate about raw culinary arts? Can you take a week, two,

three, or even four weeks to spend in pursuit of an opportunity that

could change your life for the better?

 

If your answer to all these questions is YES -- you are invited to

apply as a Living Light Kitchen Apprentice.

 

The value of this opportunity is directly proportionate to the

attitude you bring with you. The cost of the program is a minimal $20

per day. This allows you to observe two culinary demonstrations each

day, presented by our outstanding team of raw chef instructors,

including the mother of gourmet raw cuisine, and founder of Living

Light, Master Chef Cherie Soria. You will receive the packet of

recipes that includes all the raw gourmet foods prepared during your

apprenticeship. Most organic raw vegan meals are included on workdays

and while school is in session.

 

Here is what one of our Angel/Apprentices had to say about her experience,

Thank you so much for the opportunity of being a Living Light Kitchen

Angel. I am not one to learn well in the classroom, but I love hard

work in the kitchen and being in the thick of things. This was perfect

for me. I especially loved interacting with all the staff. I am

grateful beyond belief and would do it again, anytime! ~Former Kitchen

Living Light Kitchen Apprentices do not attend all the classes or

receive certification as a raw food chef, however we recently had an

Angel who apprenticed for two months and was hired as a raw food chef

in a luxury beachfront Costa Rican resort. Another Living Light

Kitchen Angel recently opened her own raw restaurant in Canada, as a

result, she says, of what she learned in our kitchen. There are some

raw fooders would actually rather be a Living Light Apprentice than go

on vacation! But that doesn't mean it isn't hard work!

 

This position is for those who love to participate in making it all

happen in the kitchen. They must be willing to work long hours, lift

40# boxes of fruits and vegetables; wash dishes and produce; keep the

floors clean, the refrigerators organized, the kitchen tidy, the food

deliveries received and inventoried, and that's not all. Living Light

Kitchen Apprentices often arrive at 6 AM to put the fruit out for

breakfast and sometimes stay after dinner to help clean the kitchen

(our students help, too, and there are scheduled breaks during the

day). In short, Living Light Kitchen Apprentices do whatever is needed

to operate a successful culinary school and deli. Yes, most Living

Light Kitchen Apprentices find their time with us very enjoyable and

for some, it is life altering, but this is not a vacation and we must

make that perfectly clear from the beginning. This is an opportunity

to work in the Living Light kitchen and learn by doing. If this sounds
